How to Get Rid of Strange, Unwanted Things in Your Closet

Wondering how you can pass that white elephant along to the next person?

Why do I need a dragon mask (or whatever that is)? I don't know. I should get rid of it, but how? After 30 years of taking up space in my mother-in-law's closet and now five or so years in mine, it has now acquired "treasured family heirloom" status or something.

If the mask were the only strange thing in my closets, I wouldn't feel so bad, but no ... I have boxes of trophies, old cheerleading uniforms (and pom-poms), Fisher Price "Little People" from when I was a little person, the first 60 or so Nancy Drew books, clothes I haven't worn in 20 years or more and the list goes on and on and on.
