Homeowner Tax Assesments
Anyone else shocked at their property tax and what they say it is worth? I'd sell mine today if I thought I could get what they say it is worth. Did my house really increase $67,000 in value in one year? Then why is a house down the street the same size as mine price for sale at $5000 less than my current appraisal? To add salt to the wound they want a $204 filing fee plus an certified appraisal for an arbitration? This would be about the same as the increase in taxes, but I'm sure they know this. Funny, they can't get comps. from a computer? Look online with Trulia or Zillow to see what has sold in the neighborhood. See the foreclosures in the past two years? How about some common sense and not just figuring out what you need in revenue. I feel like my County of almost 40 years just gave me the finger!
