Duluth Middle School Student Wins DAR District II Essay Contest
Congratulations to Vani Senthil, DMS 7th-grader, for her winning essay on the theme, "The Lives of Children During the American Revolution." Vani entered the American History Essay Contest through Duluth's William Day NSDAR Chapter. As a result of her winning essay, Vani will be competing at the state level for a first prize of $150 and a trip to Washington, D.C., for national competition. Another grade level winner at the Chapter level is Eli Shoaf, Crews Middle School 6th-grader. The two students read their essays to the William Day membership at their regular meeting on February 9 at The Parc at Duluth.
