This week's Bites Nearby highlights the latest member of an award-winning dynasty in the Atlanta restaurant world.
Pho Dai Loi #3 -- Winner of Best Vietnamese in Creative Loafing's 2008 Best of Atlanta, Pho Dai Loi is right at home amidst the excellent Asian restaurants around the Pleasant Hill corridor. It's simple menu features Vietnamese favorites in four categories. For starters, they serve a variety of egg rolls. Follow up with an entree from a selection of Pho, Bun, and Com. The Pho broth is clear, rich, and flavorful, loaded with noodles and meat (their beef being the focus in this dish). Bun is cold rice noodles served with such things as shrimp, beef, chicken, and pork. Com is basically the same thing as bun but with rice instead of noodles. Finish out the meal with one of their unusual desserts or Asian-style beverage like a Vietnamese coffee, bubble tea, or fruit shake. Perhaps the best thing about this excellent Pho house is that everything on the menu is less than $10.
Pho Dai Loi #3 is located at 1500 Pleasant Hill Road, Duluth, GA 30096. You can phone them at 770-381-1415. Pho Dai Loi lacks an official website, but you can view a menu here. Open Monday-Thursday, 9:30 a.m.-9 p.m.; Friday-Saturday, 9:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m.; and Sunday 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
