Barks from the Park: Chattahoochee Dog Park-Rogers Bridge

Mayor Shiner addresses barks from Chattapoochee Dog Park about water fountains, pet waste and smoking.

Mayor Shiner has received several barks from the Chattapoochee Dog Park concerning the water fountains, pet waste and smoking in the park.

The Parks and Recreation Department have recently winterized the interactive dog park fountains, which are scheduled to be operational April 1, 2013. The drinking fountains will remain operational, so it is not required for owners to B.Y.O.W. (Bring your own water). The dog drinking fountains were under repair but have been repaired and are operational.

Information will be barked at a later time on the operation of the park fountain timers.

As requested, the Parks Department will be frequently checking the dog waste stations to ensure that every owner is able to be a responsible pet owner and do the “doodie” of keeping the park clean by eliminating their pet waste. Additional waste receptacles will be ordered to better assist the owners with waste deposal.

Smoking is prohibited in all City park areas, pets must be able to breathe the fresh air and owners are encouraged to enjoy the fresh air of the park.
