Animals Desperately Need Homes

More than 150 adoptable shelter animals will be available at Petco in Duluth Saturday, July 14, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is estimated that there are 5 to 7 million pets entering shelters every year, according to a Petco press release announcing the Home-A-Thon Mega Adoption event, and more than half will be euthanized.

In addition to the opportunity to interact with shelter animals hoping to find homes, there will be face painting, games and giveaways.

Dog trainers will provide advice to adopting pet parents on site.

Some of the participating animal shelters include Angels Among Us Rescue, Furkids, Ginny Milner Foundations, Gwinnett County Animal Welfare, and Save a Little Pregnant Dog Rescue.
