Marketing Your Business in just 15 Minutes a Day

So this will be "Throwback Thursday" for me today. This is an older blog that I wrote but, it has a lot of relevant information that a business owner should be using today!

So you have a Facebook, Youtube, Pinterest, Yelp, Twitter, linkedin, a Blog and an email newsletter, plus your website! How in the world do you keep up with marketing your business and also running your business?

It can get over whelming really quickly, especially when you realize that I named only a few of the ways you can market your business online. How many times have you gotten on Facebook just to post something real quick about your business, then the next thing you know it is lunch time? I will be honest with you and tell you that this happens to me a lot more than I am willing to admit.

How can you manage your online presence and run your business without having a team of people to help you with your marketing? Well there are a couple of ways to do this. One of which is called “chunking”, where you take your plan and chop it up into smaller chunks. So if you take and spread your chunks out over the course of a week it will make it a lot less overwhelming.

I personally manage my business, plus my clients businesses online. Which makes it even rougher on some days because we have all fallen for that one more funny video,  one more cute cat or one more political commentary that you just have to read. The next thing you know you are 3 hours from when you started and you have lost part of your day.

How can you stop wasting your time online when you need to be focusing on your business? To start with you will need to chunk things down and then you need to allot yourself only 15 minutes. Set a timer if you need to!

You will be amazed at how much more you can market yourself if you force the 15 minute rule! At this point I can make a post, post it, share it and even setup an ad for it and still be done in less than 10 minutes. The biggest key to this is to know what you are going to post ahead of time.

I am a morning poster, so when I wake up I ask myself what am I going to post about today. I may not spend any time thinking about it until I sit down. But I have already put the thought in my head, so that when I sit down, the idea or concept pops in fairly quick!

Another way to cut down your time is to utilize the exact same thing across each of the networks! You may have some of the same people on each network, but that doesn’t always mean that they see your post on each of the networks!

One last way to make sure you keep it to 15 minutes a day is to use a different network every day. Now I will tell you, as I do in my classes that Facebook needs to be posted on daily. So choose your network you are going to post on, and then make sure you copy it over to Facebook!

I could write a book on this topic and one day I might. But for now, chunk down your marketing plans, schedule 15 minutes a day, think beforehand about what you are going to post and feel free to share the same thing across each of the networks. This way you can keep your sanity , not lose your day and still market your business daily!
