Holidays To Get a Historical Touch in Duluth

The Enchanted Idea House will run in December at the historic Strickland House.

The holiday season will reach the renowned Strickland House in Duluth this weekend, as the Enchanted Christmas Idea House event will begin.

According to the city website, the event at the Strickland House will run from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 7), and repeat on Saturday until Dec. 21.

Each room on the main floor of the historic home, which dates to 1898, will be creatively designed with a holiday touch. Touches will include Georgia's largest nutcracker collection and hand-sculpted Santas, as exhibited at the famed Biltmore Estate.

Alice Harrell Strickland was the first woman mayor of Duluth, in the early 20th century. The house, which is located at 2956 Buford Highway, was placed on the Georgia Register of Historical Places in 1999.

Tickets for the holiday event are $10 and are available at the door. For more information, call 678-642-9486.
