Duluth to Salute Veterans Saturday

Since this year marks the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War, special tribute will be paid to veterans of that war.

Duluth will honor veterans of U.S. Armed Forces during a Memorial Day Ceremony at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 25, at the Duluth Festival Center on the Duluth Town Green.

Since this year is the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War, the ceremony will pay special tribute to veterans of that war and those who did not make it home.

The ceremony is sponsored by the city and Chattahoochee American Legion Post 251.

Flags and markers honoring local veterans have again been installed along major Duluth roads and streets in honor of the holiday.

Duluth City Hall will be closed on Monday, May 27, in observance of Memorial Day. City offices will reopen at 8 a.m Tuesday.
