Duluth Prepares for 2013 Tree Lighting

The city has a different weekend for the event this year.

Updated Nov. 29

It's holiday season again, and Duluth is preparing for a signature holiday event.

And this year, the annual tree lighting will be held earlier than usual -- Nov. 30, it was announced Monday.

The annual ceremony in the Town Green area will be at 6:30 p.m., with activities beginning at 4 p.m. Activities will include live music and child-related events, including the arrival of Santa.

The tree lighting event previously had been held in December, noted Alisa Williams, city public information officer.
