Duluth Celebrating America July 3 at Scott Hudgens Park

Make plans to attend “Duluth Celebrates America” on July 3 at Scott Hudgens Park. Bring chairs, blankets, umbrellas and celebrate with family and friends.

The park gates open at 4 p.m. Festivities start at 5 p.m. with inflatables, a rock climbing wall, train rides, carnival rides/games, face painting, and food and beverage concessions. Beer and wine also will be for sale. The celebration will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display at dusk.

A pre-show will begin promptly at 5 p.m. with performances by 2013 Duluth Idol winners Angelica Hale, Annabel Rushing, Brooke Adee, and Luis Ruiz. Duluth Mayor Nancy Harris will welcome holiday celebrants at 6 p.m. A member of the 116th Army Band will sing the National Anthem followed by 20 band members playing live patriotic music.

Scott Hudgens Park is conveniently located off Peachtree Industrial Boulevard in River Green Business Park at 4545 River Green Parkway.

Admission and parking are free, but monetary donations will be graciously accepted to help offset costs. Activities and food/beverage vendors will cost a nominal fee.

Because Duluth celebrates the Fourth of July a day early, residents can engage in other activities and attend other fireworks shows on the actual holiday.
