I hope everyone is enjoying the extreme heat that has been in place over the southeast for the last month or so, just a couple more days and we finally get a break.
Today and Tuesday start the week with our two hottest days of the season so far, with temperatures approaching the 100-degree mark during the day and mid to low 70s at night. The high pressure system responsible for the heat will be moving off into the Atlantic on Wednesday and as it departs, will usher in a return flow of Gulf moisture to Georgia. This type of pattern is what would be considered "normal" for this time of year with mid 80's and afternoon pop-up thundershowers. The most active day for rain will be Thursday but the diurnal type precipitation will continue past the weekend.
Hope you have a great start to your week, stay cool, changes are on the way!
