Duluth will celebrate 24 years of being a Tree City USA and plant a cherry tree at Bunten Road Park at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17. The public is invited to attend the Arbor Day ceremony, according to Kathy Marelle, director of the Duluth Parks and Recreation Department.

The tree planting will honor “millennials,” young professionals who were emphasized by Mayor Nancy Harris in her recent State of the City Address. Millennials are individuals born between 1982 and 2002.

Mayor Harris will also speak at the Arbor Day ceremony.
