Eddie Owen Presents Songwriters In-the-Round w/ Hannah Miller + Nate Currin + Molly Parden

Live at Red Clay Theatre in downtown Duluth
In the modern haystack of independent art, Hannah Miller’s needle shines. With songs as soulful as the deep south, as soothing as a glass of rich red wine, and as sultry as an August evening in her native Alabama, her music is slowly finding its way. Miller’s songs have been licensed by NBC, FOX, and ABCFamily and heard on the hit shows "Sons of Anarchy", "Pretty Little Liars" and "Mercy". Outfits like Performing Songwriter Magazine, Lilith Fair, MTV, The International Songwriting Competition, American Songwriter and iTunes’ “Indie Spotlight” have all taken notice. Miller’s literate style blends blues, folk and gospel which, when led by her disarmingly intimate alto, feel immediately familiar and compelling. Numerous magazines and blogs have taken note. Reviewers have fallen over themselves looking for comparisons. Names like Neko Case, Feist, Rachel Yamagata, Liz Phair, Brandi Carlile and Basia Bulat are regularly referenced. She has held her own when opening for Langhorne Slim, Landon Pigg, Elizabeth Cook, Matthew Ryan and others and has cultivated a passionate following around the country. Miller has worked with several acclaimed producers, including Ian Fitchuk, Justin Loucks, Neilson Hubbard and Grammy Award winner Mitch Dane.

Nate Currin is an artist and a storyteller. Having traveled to over 20 countries, performed with notable acts like Blues Traveler, Butch Walker, and Neon Trees, been featured on MTV and received a first ballot Grammy nomination, he retains his enigmatic drive to fly under the radar from time to time. Having performed over 400 shows nationally, it’s when watching him play an intimate coffeehouse gig that he's tucked into a headlining U.S. tour that it clicks; Currin is chasing after the genuine human connection, one fan and one song at a time. In 2013 he embarked on a 65 city US Tour to promote his new album, The Pilgrim, an 18 song concept album based on the 17th century book The Pilgrim's Progress, which received incredible reviews and was in the top 100 on iTunes for the first several weeks of it's release.

Molly Parden's voice was born and bred in the heat of the southern sun. Her stories gently carry the warmth of sweet summer nights that are worth remembering. Without much effort and without really knowing, she takes you there. She sings with conviction, like Patty Griffin, and then echoes in refrains of peace like Leigh Nash. If ever there's a song, she'll likely sing it.
