Please add Notre Dame Academy to your list of best preschool programs. I am a grandparent of two children who have been blessed with the experience of being a part of the program there, and to say that I am pleased is an understatement. Having been a teacher for over thirty years, I recognize excellence when I see it. Notre Dame Academy is a world school that implements a well-respected curriculum, utilizing cutting-edge technology. But more than that, it is staffed by caring, loving individuals who guide our children along the way to becoming productive, caring, concerned citizens of an ever-changing world. Hats off to NDA for maintaining high standards and effective implementation. Our grandchildren LOVE being there!

DFUMC - Christian Beginnings has my vote! I loved the school so much that after my children graduated, I began working there as a teacher just to be a part of such a loving and caring atmosphere!

Our two grandsons attend Duluth First United Methodist Church's Christian Beginnings Preschool and Kindergarten. The boys love it, and they are getting a first-rate foundation for their advancement to elementary school. The teachers at Christian Beginnings are phenomenal. The atmosphere is a loving and nurturing one where every student matters. You will pat yourself on the back for sending your child there.

Christian Beginnings is a wonderful preschool/kindergarten with a strong history of success in Duluth! The staff is such a caring, giving, loving and extremely dedicated group of people. When you walk through the doors of the school, you are greeted with a friendly atmosphere filled with children who are happy to be here. My daughter attended Christian Beginnings and it was a wonderful experience for her and for our whole family. This school offers so much for the kids; personalized attention from the teachers, a great curriculum, use of a computer lab, after school activities, summer camps and so much more! Personally, I would not choose any other preschool; nothing compares to Duluth First United Methodist Church's Christian Beginnings Preschool/Kindergarten.

Notre Dame Academy - By far the best value for the money. The school listens to the needs of parents and responds with additional programs/flexible options. The teachers and administration are top notch, so the academics are beyond compare. Best of all, my daughter is loved and safe there.

What do you call a preschool that has been around for over 30 years? "The Best Preschool in Duluth"; Christian Beginnings at Duluth First United Methodist Church! Christian Beginnings Preschool/Kindergarten captures the child's attention at the age of one and continues to hold it through kindergarten. Christian Beginnings fills the hallway with energetic, loving and nurturing teachers. The teacher's number one priority on a daily basis, are the children in their care. The teacher's success shows on each child's face as they leave for the day; a great big smile! Christian Beginnings has it all; a stellar staff, beautiful children, great families, a clean, child friendly facility and a church staff that supports the preschool/kindergarten 100%! This school has my recommendation for any family who is looking for a quality program!

I'm a teacher. I've also been a church's Director of Children's Ministry, a camp director, a nanny, etc. I've pretty much worked with kids my whole life. Specifically, as a life-long learner, I've worked (or been a part of) educational environment many years. I've worked in public schools, private schools, and private Christian schools. Never have I been as impressed as I have where I currently teach as a Preschool Lead Teacher at The Schoolhouse Academy. The ratios, cleanliness, community atmosphere, location, and available resources excel every thing I've seen. My employer, the Director (Angilla Jones) is dedicated, caring, intentional, thoughtful, and very genuine in her expressed interest in each student and family. My favorite part of being a teacher at The Schoolhouse is the freedom I'm given to focus on being the best teacher I can be! So many schools make it difficult nowadays to actually focus on the children. I love the relationships I'm building with each of my students and their families, and I see successes that continually blow my mind. Please vote for THE SCHOOLHOUSE!

Deborah Jones March 22, 2012 at 09:31 PM
Deborah Jones: We LOVE Notre Dame Academy. Preschool is a magical experience and then they go right on to Kindergarten which is even more magical. And the fun just doesn't stop there. We'll keep in this ride until 8th grade.

Christian Beginnings at DFUMC is the best preschool and Kindergarten in the area! My daughter graduated Kindergarten and was very well prepared when she entered first grade at public school. Her teacher told us Christian Beginnings students are among the best prepared she has ever seen! The staff is truly dedicated and the parents are very involved. My daughter thrived in the loving and caring enviornment there! We were so blessed to find this school. I always recommend it. As a parent and local business owner, I believe Christian Beginnings is a great benefit to the community.

Christian Beginnings is the best preschool and Kindergarten! My daughter attended 4 years and graduated from the Kindergarten program. This school has been providing an award winning program for toddlers though K for 30 years! I volunteered as a parent and worked as a substitute. I believe so much in the quality of this program that I joined the staff and now work as a teacher there. The staff is dedicated to providing every child with love, acceptance and a top notch education. I watched my child and others grow, blossom and develop into fine young adults as a result of attending Christian Beginnings. Your children are in good hands there and will be loved, accepted and challenged to do their best!

I have been visiting The Schoolhouse since I had my first child almost a year ago. After visiting several other preschools in the metro area, I was pleased and relieved to finally find a school that reflects my own philosophies on educating small children. The Schoolhouse is indeed an "Ivy League Beginning" for children, providing them a clean, safe, loving and educational environment in which they can grow and learn. The Director has obviously thought through each detail meticulously, from the smallest toys to the architectural layout of the rooms. I'm also very impressed by the many resources provided for the teachers. The teachers and the young learners are the most valuable assets to the school, and Ms. Jones obviously holds them both in the highest regard. As soon as my son turns one, he will attend The Schoolhouse and continue a lifetime of learning!

Duluth First United Methodist Church-Christian Beginnings is outstanding. The teachers are wonderful and very loving. Excuse the long letter. Ok, where do I start? There are so many wonderful things to say about the Schoolhouse. First, I want to talk about my son and his experience at a school prior to the Schoolhouse. After lots and lots of research and visiting schools, I enrolled my 2 year old son in a very reputable 5 star school in my area. It has all of the bells and whistles that any parent would wish for. I mean the best of the best. On his first day of school my little angel cried the entire day. The second day he did same thing. I was told that many kids go through this when they first start preschool. I talked to many parents and preschools and everyone who I spoke to told me that their little one had a hard time adjusting to the new environment at first as well. The preschools told me that they go through this all the time. So I decided to keep taking him and I would sit and watch him on the monitors daily. He literally with no exaggeration cried all day everyday. This continued for two weeks straight, so I decided that I could not subject my child to this anymore. I then took him out and decided to delay going back to work and continued to homeschool him. My son has been under me since he was born and does not like to be separated from me, not even at Grandmas house.

Continued......... Not too long after that I was driving down the block and saw the Schoolhouse. Something told me to stop and check it out. From the minute I walked in I felt like I was at home. I was greeted and given a tour by Angela the director of the school. She was very warm and genuine. This experience was different that any school I had ever been to. We ended up talking for over an hour and I could see her true passion to provide children with something different than the norm. She has a holistic balanced approach to educating the children. After that I brought my little one and Dad to visit. They both liked the school, so we decided to give it another shot. The whole registration process was handled better than I have ever seen. We were required to register in a much more family oriented and balanced way. Ms. Angela went above and beyond to make my son feel comfortable before his first day of school. So here we go, the first day of school.

Continued...... We brought him in and had him join the class. He began to act as if he was at home. He was so relaxed and happy that, he joined the class and started going over the days of the week. I watched for a little while and then I told him that I was leaving and to have a nice day. He said "bye mommy" and turned back around and continued to go over the days of the week. I was shocked as I walked out and heard no crying. This was his first time being separated from me without crying. He fell in love with the Schoolhouse from day one and it is now 4 months later and he still has not cried till this day. Every time I walk into the school he is enjoying himself so much that he never wants to leave. He is learning at a very rapid pace. However, the most important thing of all is that my baby feels as comfortable and loved at school as he does at home.

Duluth First United Methodist Christian Beginnings is a real blessing. This program was a blessing for both of my children, giving them a love for learning and a strong foundation for a lifetime of school! Christian Beginnings has been and continues to be a blessing for me as a teacher there. The staff, children and families are amazing. I always tell my friends I have the BEST JOB EVER! Being a part of Christian Beginnings is something I will treasure always! Christian Beginnings is truly a loving, nurturing, Christian environment that I am proud to vote for.

The School House has a warm, inviting and stimulating learning environment. In addition to engaging the students with interactive lessons and imaginative play, the staff of The School House teach life skills and leadership skills that will last a lifetime.

The Schoolhouse is the best preschool in Duluth. The learning style has a higher standard for each child.
Judith March 23, 2012 at 12:56 PM
The Schoolhouse is a true model of "a breath of fresh air"! Its first and largest assets are Ms. Angela, a diamond in a rough, and her amazingly professonal, yet motherly staff. They all together immulate the perfect owner and principal/teacher combination that all parents should desire for their child. The learning system is so very well rounded and inclusive, which for each and every child, this cultivating experience can begin preparation for honor societies and Ivy League colleges in the future.
Lori Rivet March 23, 2012 at 01:01 PM
Notre Dame Academy has a great preschool program. I have had two children in their program, and, having transferred from other preschools, I have a basis of comparison. The teachers and staff truly care for the children as if they were their very own, and the education is top-notch. And they are the only preschool in Duluth that offers an IB program, which promotes learning in a novel way. My friends are amazed by what my children have learned at such young ages.
Melvin E Lugrand March 23, 2012 at 01:16 PM
The Schoolhouse gives an unbridled guidance to our children, and I couldn't see them going anywhere else. In fact all of the schools that we visited don't even get a close second place when it comes to the whole package in cleanliness, curriculum, love, and a common concerne for your child's well being and future. There is no way this isn't the best school in Georgia, let alone Duluth.
Michelle March 26, 2012 at 03:46 AM
We LOVE Duluth First United Methodist Church - Christian Beginnings! I have had children in the program for four years now, including the amazing Kindergarten program, and they have enjoyed going every day. It's been amazing to see how much they have grown and learned. The teachers are exceptional and second to none. They provide a very caring and nurturing environment, while educating our children. Hands down, the BEST pre-school and Kindergarten program around and I would recommend it, without hesitation, to anyone!!

I encourage all Gwinnett parents to investigate the long term value of an AMI accredtted Montessori education. My son loves to learn and this love for learning has been nurtured at the Duluth Montessori School, the best in Gwinnett.
