Thunderstorms, Heavy Rain Forecast for Duluth

National Weather Service places Gwinnett under Hazardous Weather Outlook and Flood Watch.

 

Well, let's hope you had your outdoor Labor Day Weekend fun on Saturday, because Sunday and Monday are looking rugged with thunderstorms and rain forecast starting Sunday afternoon and continuing through Monday night and Tuesday. Plan to turn on the stove instead of firing up the grill.

The National Weather Service has placed Gwinnett County including Duluth under a Hazardous Weather Outlook and Flood Watch.

Here's the Duluth forecast for the rest of the Labor Day holiday from the National Weather Service:

Today: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 82. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 m.p.h. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Tonight: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Low around 68. Calm wind becoming east around 5 m.p.h. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. 

Labor Day: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 76. Calm wind becoming west between 5 and 10 m.p.h. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible. 

Monday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Low around 70. Northeast wind between 5 and 10 m.p.h becoming calm. Winds could gust as high as 20 m.p.h. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
