Two Duluth Soldiers Among Iraq War Casualties

Two Duluth soldiers are listed among the casualties of the Iraq War.

The U.S-led invasion of Iraq began 10 years ago on March 19, 2003. By one count, the war is directly responsible for 189,000 deaths, not including those who died from hardship caused by the fighting.

CNN has a map of all casualties in the Afghanistan and Iraq wars.

In all, 4,802 Americans and allies have died in the war, according to the Iraq Coalition Casualty Count, including 141 Georgians.

Among them are two soldiers from Duluth. From the CNN war casualties website:

• Charles Houghton Warren, 36, Sgt. 1st Class, Company C, 648th Engineer Battalion, 48th Infantry Brigade,Georgia Army National Guard -- One of three soldiers killed when a car bomb detonated near their armored personnel carrier in Baghdad, Iraq, on August 3, 2005.
• Stephen John Wilson, 28, Staff Sgt., Combat Logistics Battalion 13, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, II Marine Expeditionary Force -- One of two Marines killed during combat operations in Saqlawiya, Anbar province, Iraq, on June 20, 2007.
