Ribbon-cutting Today at Rogers Bridge Park

Duluth celebrates completion of early phases of trails, river overlook

Duluth outdoor enthusiasts are invited to come out the Rogers Bridge Park Thursday (Feb. 3) for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the completion of early phases of the Rogers Bridge Park Greenway Trail, River Overlook and Bikeway Trail. Officials with the City Of Duluth Parks and Recreation Department and Duluth Planning Department will cut the ribbon at 2 p.m.

Located adjacent to the Chattahoochee River, the Greenway Trail and River Overlook represent the beginning of a larger planned trail system that will allow bikers and pedestrians access along the river. The Greenway Trail and River Overlook was largely funded through Georgia Department of Natural Resources grants.

The Bikeway Trail connects Rogers Bridge Park to Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. These phases of the trail system through the park extend a distance of ¾ mile. The total cost for both projects was $295,000. Rogers Bridge Park is located at 4291 Rogers Bridge Road.
