Reminder: Amnesty Program for Tickets Ends Thursday

Outstanding citations can be resolved without additional penalty during Gwinnett court's amnesty period.

There's still a few days left for individuals with unpaid traffic tickets in Gwinnett County Recorder’s Court to settle citations issued as far back as 1983 without additional penalty.

The amnesty program offered by the Gwinnett County Recorder’s Court ends Thursday, March 31. Bench warrants and the $25 bench warrant fee will be recalled for those who resolve their cases during the amnesty period.

Those who do not require a court appearance can pay their fines via mail with a money order or appear at the Recorder’s Court and pay by cash, money order, credit or debit card. Checks and money orders should include the name and citation number. They should be written for the exact amount due and made payable to Gwinnett County Recorder’s Court.

For those who require a court appearance, arrive at the Recorder’s Court at 8:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday through the end of the month to see a judge. Bring a copy of the citation or citation numbers if possible.

Individuals with a suspended licenses who do not need to appear at the Recorder’s Court should include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with their payment to receive the correct forms to reinstate their licenses. Otherwise, these forms are available at the Recorder’s Court at the time of payment.

Bench warrants will remain active for individuals with outstanding tickets who do not take advantage of the amnesty program, and they will be subject to arrest.
