Fun, Festive New Year's Eve Planned in Duluth

Ring in the new year with your family, friends and neighbors on the . Duluth’s free community celebration begins at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, and continues past midnight until 12:30 a.m.

Activities include a Winter Carnival, a downtown crawl of shops and restaurants, multiple concerts, and Chick-fil-A Bowl viewing on the big screen. At midnight, there will be a dramatic ascent of the city logo up the Clock Tower and a spectacular fireworks display.

The carnival on the Duluth Town Green will feature a snow slide, inflatables, rides, and games. Admission is free, but there will be a nominal charge for carnival activities and food.

The legendary party band Banks and Shane will headline the concerts. Also appearing on the Stage will be Allatoona, the Georgia-Country.com Band of the Year; MY Salsa, Tyler Talks to Doors, and the Gwinnett School of Rock.

Across the street at the Red Clay Theatre, Eddie Owen Presents “The Mosier Brothers & Friends” in concert. Doors open at 7 p.m.. The concert starts at 8 p.m. and will conclude in time to attend the midnight festivities on the Duluth Town Green. Concert tickets are for sale at www.eddieowenpresents.com.
