Multiple Charges Filed Against Lawrenceville Man Chased by Duluth Police

The man who fled from Duluth Police Monday (June 17) morning and then was captured has been identified as Seth Bryan Stanley, 26, of Lawrenceville.

Duluth Police later identified the suspect and reported that he was in the Gwinnett County Detention Center.

Stanley was charged with reckless driving, fleeing and eluding a police officer, speeding, hit and run-failure to stop and render aid, obstruction of officer, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, driving under the influence-drugs, DUI refusal, driving with a suspended/revoked license, and making an improper right turn, according to information provided by Maj. Don Woodruff, public information officer for the Duluth PD.

Stanley was wanted on an outstanding warrant from the Broward County, FL, Sheriff’s Department on charges of burglary and grand theft auto.

The chase began when a Duluth Police Department officer attempted to perform a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by the suspect, according to an initial news release from the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department.

The suspect vehicle did not stop and fled a short distance before the driver abandoned the vehicle and continued to flee on foot.

Stanley eventually was struck by a vehicle driven by Duluth Police. He was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment and later to the jail.

The chase ended at the intersection of Steve Reynolds Boulevard and Old Norcross Road, the media release stated.

Duluth police, Gwinnett County Police Department and Georgia State Patrol all responded to the incident.
