Males Dominate Several Grammy Award Categories

The 55th annual Grammy Awards will be broadcast Sunday night on CBS.

This year's Grammy Award nominees for Album of the Year are all men, while nominees for Best Pop Solo Performance are all women. Duluth

The bands The Black Keys, Fun. and Mumford & Sons join solo artists Frank Ocean and Jack White vying for Album of the Year during the 55th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night. 

Nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance are Adele for "Set Fire to the Rain," Kelly Clarkson for "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)," Carly Rae Jepsen for "Call Me Maybe," Katy Perry for "Wide Awake" and Rihanna for "Where Have You Been."

Men also dominate the categories for Best Rock Album — nominees include The Black Keys, Coldplay, Muse, Bruce Springsteen and Jack White — and Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Album. Carrie Underwood is the only female nominee of six for Best Country Solo Performance and Miranda Lambert is the lone female in the five-nominee category of Best Country Album.
