'Dad's Christmas Miracle' ideal for entire family to celebrate the holidays, appeals to all ages.

The heart-warming 1950s-era holiday play “Dad’s Christmas Miracle” continues this weekend at New Dawn Theater in Duluth.

Grandpa Connor Murphy recalls the Christmas he wanted a go-cart more than anything, but his teacher Miss McLaughlin messes things up by handing out report cards just before Christmas vacation. His dismal report card dashes his hopes of getting the go-cart.

The scenes switch between the elder Connor telling his grandchildren about his childhood Christmas and vignettes of his memories acted out by his family when Connor was a boy. The set is filled with vintage furniture and holiday decorations.

New Dawn Theater Company’s production is co-directed by Sherry Ingbritsen and Kari Hefner. “This is a family-friendly show and perfect for all ages,” said Ingbritsen, the company’s president and artistic director. Pat Cook is the author of the play.
