Funeral Plans for Teacher's Husband Announced

Funeral arrangements for Glenroy Rolston Walker Jr., the husband of Sandra Walker, a kindergarten teacher at Chesney Elementary School in Duluth, have been announced by the family.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Dec. 2, at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel Funeral Home, 5051 Peachtree Industrial Blvd., in Norcross. Visitation time to be determined later. For information, call the Crowell Brothers Chapel at 770-448-5757.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 3, at Norcross First United Methodist Church, 2500 Beaver Ruin Road, Norcross. Burial will follow at Peachtree Memorial Park.

Glen Walker, 35, died Nov. 22 from injuries sustained in a Nov. 5 auto accident in South Fulton County. Sandra Walker remains hospitalized. Her family reports she is making progress in recovering from injuries received in the accident.

The white van in which they were traveling with their two children was struck head-on by a black minivan at Flat Shoals Road and Harper Valley Drive. The black minivan was reportedly driving erratically before the accident. The impact caused the Walker van, which Glen was driving, to flip.

Their children Alana, 6, and Cameron, 2, were taken to Egleston after the accident and were released. They are presently being cared for family members. The community has been donating money, gift cards and necessary items for the children’s care. There is still a need for funds to cover child care for the youngest child.
