Duluth 'Flicks on the Bricks' Starts July 9

Gather up the family, the lawn chairs and blankets, and a cooler full of food and soft drinks for the “Flicks on the Bricks” free outdoor movie series on the Duluth Town Green. The showing of this year's first movie “Megamind” on a giant 45-foot screen is being sponsored by B98.5 Radio and Publix Saturday, July 9.

A 2010 computer-animated superhero comedy, “Megamind” features the voices of Will Ferrell, Brad Pitt, Tina Fey, David Cross and Jonah Hill. Pre-event activities and concessions will start at 7 p.m. followed by the movie at dusk. Coolers, lawn chairs and blankets are welcome, but no alcoholic beverages are allowed.

Aug. 12 – “Rango” – Festivities begin at 7 p.m. with playing in the fountain, family games and a Hula Hoop contest. The movie starts at dark (8:50 p.m.)

Sept. 9 – “The Wedding Singer” – Live 80s music and a retro costume contest at 6:30 p.m. Winner receives a collection of 80s classic movie DVDs and music CDs. Also, a Hula Hoop contest with prizes. Movie at dark (8:15 p.m.)

Oct. 14 – “The Haunted Mansion” – Spooky inflatable slide, family games and Hula Hoop contest at 6 p.m. Movie at dark (7:30 p.m.)
