Discovery Point Collecting Coats 4 Kids

Salvation Army will distribute coats to keep needy children warm this winter.

While you’re doing your Christmas shopping buy a new child’s coat or check your closets for any gently-used children’s outerwear to donate to keep cold kids  warm this winter.

Discovery Point Child Development Centers are partnering with Atlanta radio station Q100, The Salvation Army and McDonald’s for this year’s Coats 4 Kids campaign. The coats collected will be distributed by the Salvation Army to children in need throughout Georgia this winter, according to an announcement issued by Discovery Point.

“Participating in Coats 4 Kids gives our children the opportunity to discover the joy of sharing first-hand,” said Cindy Siegel, director of operations for Duluth-based Discovery Point Franchising Inc., in the announcement. “It is one thing to talk about sharing toys in the classroom, but it is much more meaningful when the children can participate in a program that helps other children.”

“Our commitment to children goes far beyond the classroom,” Discovery Point CEO Cliff Clark added in the announcement. “Whether we are involved in the Special Olympics or a program like Coats 4 Kids, there is nothing that gives us more joy than being able to help children in need.”
