'Days of our Lives' Cast Coming to Suwanee City Hall

Cast members promoting book celebrating 45 years of the popular NBC-TV soap opera.

Whether you admit to watching soap operas, now called daytime dramas, or not, you’ll want to know about this event. Fans following the long-running soap opera “Days of our Lives” can meet cast members Monday (March 21) at Suwanee City Hall. One of the stars is a hometown boy from nearby Peachtree Corners.

The Suwanee Branch of the Gwinnett County Public Library in partnership with the city is hosting a book signing with the cast members from 6 to 8 p.m. to promote the new book “Days of our Lives 45 Years: A Celebration in Photos.” The event is free.

Cast members Crystal Chappell (Carly), Eric Martsolf (Brady), James Reynolds (Abe), Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe), Chandler Massey (Will), and Galen Gering (Rafe) from the NBC-TV daytime drama are scheduled to attend. They will be accompanied by the book's authors Greg Meng and Eddie Campbell.

Massey is a 2009 graduate of Norcross High School. He's the eldest son of Lewis (the former Secretary of State for Georgia) and Amy Massey, who live in Peachtree Corners along with their two other children.

The Suwanee stop is part of a multi-city national book tour that began with a book signing in Houston followed by stops in New York City, Los Angeles, Miami, Detroit, Chicago and New Orleans. Thousands of fans turned out to meet and mingle with their favorite “Days of our Lives” stars on the tour.

Sheri Anderson, author of the “Days of our Lives”-inspired novel “A Secret in Salem” and former head writer for the popular soap opera, is also participating in the tour.

"We are thrilled to be traveling with our cast to various cities to meet our fans and get a chance to chat with them in person! We are so appreciative that they come out to see us and that they seem to be enjoying our new book,” Meng said.

The coffee table book, which contains 500 photographs, traces the history and storylines of the show from its inception to the present. “Days of our Lives,” the longest-running scripted program in NBC-TV history, celebrated its 45th anniversary in November 2010. The book will be available for purchase and signing at the Suwanee event.

Over the years, “Days of our Lives” has won multiple Emmy, Soap Opera Digest and People's Choice awards
