Gwinnett Medical Center celebrated breast cancer survivors Tuesday (Oct. 4) at the new Gwinnett Breast Center on the Lawrenceville campus. Survivors shared their inspiring stories after walking down a red carpet at the entrance as part of the sixth annual celebration.

About 250 guests toured the state-of-the-art facility, which combines screening and diagnostic services in a spa-like environment. The center offers such amenities as private changing rooms, lockers for storing personal items, and complimentary snacks and beverages.

Featured speakers included Dr. Kimberly Hutcherson, a GMC-affiliated radiologist and breast cancer survivor, who self diagnosed herself at the age of 40.
