Big Hair Ball to Help Homeless Animals Saturday

1980s-themed fund-raiser at Country Club of the South to benefit Angels Among Us Pet Rescue.

Angels Among Us Pet Rescue hosts its first Big Hair Ball at Country Club of the South Saturday (June 18).

Tickets to the 1980s-themed fundraiser are $85, include a full-course dinner and two drinks, and are tax deductible. Tables for 10 are $750.

"Summertime is kitten and puppy season in Georgia," said Lisa Zambacca of Angels. "We need as much funding as we can get."

Attendees are encouraged to pull their favorite 1980s garb out of storage to wear to the event. There will be dancing, as well as silent and live auctions. Among the items to be auctioned is an autographed guitar as well as tickets and backstage passes from the band Styx, which will perform July 14 at  in Alpharetta.

Angels Among Us is a non-profit, volunteer group that rescues pets from high-kill shelters in North Georgia and operates foster homes throughout the metro area. Angels Among Us operates a cat adoption center at PETCO at 10980 State Bridge Road.
