Animal Shelter Offering Discounted Adoptions

The Gwinnett shelter is also hosting a special event Dec. 15 -- photos and cookies with Santa.

In an effort to have each homeless animal at the shelter adopted by Christmas, the Gwinnett County Animal Shelter is offering discounted adoptions through Dec. 23.

The $30 cash adoption fee includes the spaying or neutering of the animal, the first round of immunizations and a microchip.

The shelter will also host a special holiday event on Dec. 15 -- pictures and cookies with Santa. Area residents may bring their family and four-legged friends to enjoy hot chocolate and cookies and have a photo made with Santa Claus from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Call the shelter for an appointment). An 8x10 photo is $10, a CD Rom is $5. All proceeds benefit the shelter.
