Tie Dye 4 Opens on Main Street in Duluth

Store offers birthday and craft parties featuring tie dying T-shirts and summer crafts camps.

Tie Dye 4 Kids Parties, Balloons, Cakes & Treats, a full party experience, is opening its first storefront on Main Street in Historic Downtown Duluth Friday (May 6) with a ribbon-cutting at 9 a.m. Tie Dye 4 will offer themed birthday and craft parties featuring tie dying T-shirts and will host craft camps throughout the summer.

Tie Dye 4’s owner Deborah McCart announced grand opening hours will be May 6-8 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. to complement the city’s seventh annual Barefoot in the Park Fine Arts Festival on the Town Green.

The public is invited to join McCart, Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce and Duluth officials at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Tie Dye 4 at 3107-C Main Street. School-age children are encouraged to make a free tie dye T-shirt, enjoy free face painting and a complimentary piece of Tie Dye 4 birthday cake, and enter a drawing for a free birthday party for eight.

Founded on Sept. 15, 2010, by McCart, a Duluth resident, Tie Dye 4 currently provides home, community and school parties and events. The 1,500-square-foot downtown Duluth location offers parents the option of “destination” birthday parties with a choice of 15 themes. Every detail of the party will be handled by Tie Dye 4 so parents can relax and enjoy the experience with their children, according to McCart. Tie Dye 4’s popular “Party in a Box” also will be available for busy parents. In addition, Tie Dye 4 will create balloon sculptures for all occasions and make hospital balloon deliveries.

“Deborah is an innovative entrepreneur who brings energy and excitement to Downtown Duluth,” said Duluth Economic Development Manager Chris McGahee in the announcement. “Her business is going to introduce a whole new generation of families to the magic that is our downtown. We can’t wait for her to spread her vibrant colors into the (Town) Green.”

"We are excited to be part of this historic community and look forward to Tie Dye 4’s future in Duluth."
