Three Duluth Nonprofits Given $1,000 Grants

Wells Fargo honors 31 groups from Gwinnett and 21 from surrounding areas at a breakfast in Duluth.

Wells Fargo team members chose three Duluth organizations doing good things in the community to receive $1,000 grants through the company’s Days of Giving program. The grant recipients included the Foster Children's Foundation, Gwinnett Council for the Arts, and Rainbow Village.

In all, 235 nonprofits were selected to receive $1,000 grants in the Days of Giving program’s third year in Atlanta. The donations are being distributed at five community breakfasts across Atlanta. Wells Fargo launched the annual initiative in the fall of 2009.

Thirty-one groups from Gwinnett and 21 from surrounding areas were honored at a breakfast at the 1818 Club in Duluth Nov. 7 and presented their grants.

The company also announced that its Atlanta team members had pledged or given $937,000 through its annual United Way and Community Support campaign representing 10 percent more than last year. Wells Fargo is also making a $600,000 corporate contribution to the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta.
