Target to Match Prices With Amazon, Walmart, Others

As an extension of its holiday "price-match" policy, the store hopes to encourage business in its brick-and-mortar stores.

According to a Jan. 8 Target press release, the store announced plans to price match top online retailers year-round, including Amazon.com, Walmart.com, BestBuy.com and Toysrus.com (including Babiesrus.com).

If a shopper buys something at Target, then finds the same item at any of the above stores or a local competitor within seven days, Target will match the price.

“Guests can confidently shop at Target every day for the best value in retail,” said Gregg Steinhafel, Target chairman, president and CEO, in a statement. “We know that our guests often compare prices online. With our new Price Match Policy and the additional five percent savings guests receive when they use their REDcard, Target provides an unbeatable value.”

The Duluth Target is located at 3935 Venture Drive.

They are still at a disadvantage. I'll have to print out the price of my item (which means I've already shopped online for it), deal with traffic, parking, crowds, and roll the dice on customer service. To get the same product that I'd have to. 1) Point and click 2) wait two days for Prime delivery for Amazon to ship to my door.
