Sonesta Signs Installed, Flag Raised

The Atlanta Marriott Gwinnett Place in Duluth officially became the Sonesta Gwinnett Place Friday, May 17.

The signs on the Atlanta Marriott Gwinnett Place on Pleasant Hill Road near I-85 have been replaced by Sonesta signs. The hotel officially became part of the Sonesta hotel chain Friday, May 17, as the Sonesta Gwinnett Place.

The Sonesta flag was raised in a ceremony on Friday, and cake and soft drinks were served in the lobby to guests and employees.

The change was announced by Sonesta in late April. The full-service 17-story hotel in unincorporated Duluth is Gwinnett County’s largest hotel with 426 guest rooms, including 15 suites and three concierge floors. It has 18 function rooms offering 16,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The 8,000-square-foot Georgia Ballroom can accommodate up to 1,000 guests.
