Self Electronics Expands Operations in Gwinnett

Self Electronics Corp. USA, a specialized supplier of optoelectronics, announced Friday (May 13) the expansion of its sales operations in Gwinnett County. A branch of SELF Electronics headquartered in Ningbo, China, Self will locally house sales and marketing services, technical services, and warehouse facilities.

Self purchased an office and warehouse facility at 4500 Peachtree Lake Drive in unincorporated Duluth, investing more than $550,000 in the expansion.

“I believe that the establishment and development of the U.S. branch of SELF Electronics will enable us to provide better environmentally friendly and energy saving LED products and services to the American people.” said Wanjiong Lin, chairman of the SELF Group, in a press release announcing the expansion.

The company selected Gwinnett and the State of Georgia because of both its proximity to major U.S. clients like Home Depot and WalMart and its ready access to the U.S. market. “Gwinnett’s location in metro Atlanta provides convenient access to over 80 percent of the U.S. market in just two days via road transport, making it a strategic choice for companies like SELF seeking to relocate and expand,” stated Gwinnett Commission Chairman Charlotte Nash.

Self Electronics Co. Ltd. has been rated among the biggest exporters and manufacturers in the China lighting industry, offering a wide range of optoelectronic products such as full series LED lamps, LED displays, LED dot matrixes, LED clusters and more. SELF also has locations in ShenZhen, China, and Cologne, Germany.

The State of Georgia, Gwinnett County and Gwinnett Chamber Economic Development assisted Self with the expansion.
