PURE taqueria Named a Top Brand

Nation's Restaurant News called PURE one of 50 "concepts shaking up the restaurant marketplace."

Nation’s Restaurant News has named the PURE taqueria brand one of 50 "concepts shaking up the restaurant marketplace." PURE taqueria has five locations in the Atlanta metro area including Duluth.

Roswell restaurateurs Chris Sedgwick and Michele Sedgwick created the concept for PURE taqueria and opened the first location in Alpharetta in 2005 at the site of an abandoned 1920s era Pure Fuel Oil station. The small stone building near the restaurant, now used for storage, was part of the original gas station. The Sedgwicks designed and built the main restaurant space.

Over the past eight years, PURE taqueria has become an Atlanta favorite, consistently topping the city’s best lists for its strong Margaritas and authentic Mexican food.

The Sedgwicks opened a Roswell PURE taqueria last year. They have also successfully franchised other locations of the popular restaurant.

Franchisees Bill Weaver and Rich Dennis opened the Duluth PURE taqueria in October 2011. They also own the Inman Park location of PURE taqueria in Atlanta.

The Roswell and Alpharetta locations are the only PURE taquerias personally owned by the Sedgwicks.

A fifth PURE taqueria is located in Woodstock.

"I feel really proud and happy to honored by NRN," Chris Sedgwick said. "Michele and I built PURE as the kind of place that we would want to go to ourselves and have accomplished just that."

"We are very happy people recognize that higher quality food, more attentive service and a lively ambiance can be a great part of what is a taqueria-cantina experience," he said. "Long gone are the days where we had to settle for typical watered down Margaritas, "Speedy Gonzalez"-type combination plates, canned music and sombreros."
