How Did 1818 Club, Other Restaurants Do on Health Checks?

Duluth Restaurant Inspections: How area restaurants fared on health checks.

Several Duluth restaurants underwent routine health inspections recently by the Gwinnett Health Department. Here are the results:

  • 1818 CLUB: The restaurant at 6500 Sugarloaf Parkway scored a "91/A" on Oct. 23. The violation noted: Violation of Code: [.04(6)(f) ] Cheese, meats and dressing in prep cooler above 41F. All foods discarded. All potentially hazardous foods must be cold held at 41F or below.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation. The full report is here.
  • TONY'S SPORTS BAR AND GRILL: The restaurant at 2590 Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, Suite L scored a "100/A" on Oct. 15. The full report is here.
  • MAMA'S PARADISE: The restaurant at 2400 Satellite Boulevard, Suite 109 received an "84/B" rating on Oct. 15. Among the violations noted: Multiple cooked potentially hazardous foods not properly cooled by effective methods (shallow pans, ice water bath, adding ice as an ingredient, etc.) Foods discarded.   • WHAT THE PHO: The restaurant at 2442 Pleasant Hill Road, Suite 3A, received a "75/C" score on Oct. 15. Among the violations noted: Employee observed tapping wok and ladle on rim of trash can to discard food; wok and ladle were not washed afterwards. Employee washed and rinsed the utensils and equipment. Equipment food-contact surfaces and utensils must be cleaned at any time during theoperation when contamination may have occurred.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation. The full report is here.
  • TASTE OF PHO: The restaurant at 2180 Pleasant Hill Road, Suite B-1 received a "78/C" rating on Oct. 15. Among the violations noted: Dishes ready to be used to serve food were dirty and unclean to sight and touch: Bowls had rice, noodle, and vegetable particles on them. Mixing bowls and serving plates had food debris and residue. Items were rewashed. All food contact surfaces must be clean to sight and touch.  Corrected On-Site.  Repeat Violation.
