Gwinnett Chamber Drive Based on Movie '300'

All-volunteer campaign has goal of generating $800,000 and recruiting 100 new members.

The Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce launches its all volunteer-led Membership and Sponsorship Campaign today (Aug. 10) with a goal of $800,000 and 100 new members. The campaign will continue through January 2012, according to an announcement by the chamber.

Titled “800,” the campaign has a Spartan theme based on the movie “300.” The campaign will be led by Co-Chairs Raymer Sale with E2E Resources and Herman Pennamon Jr. Campaign volunteers will be recruiting new members and selling memberships, sponsorships and advertising in chamber publications.

The chamber will encourage participants to “Prepare for Glory” throughout the fall at reward sessions every other week at various locations around the county that will culminate in a victory celebration in January, the announcement stated. Volunteers who generate $11,500 or more will celebrate with a trip to Grand Cayman.

“If you are approached by one of the campaign’s volunteers, please take a few minutes to browse the Sponsorship Product Manual,” said Vince DeSilva Sr., vice president of member services for the Gwinnett Chamber, in the announcement. “There might be a perfect match for your business to gain valuable exposure in the Gwinnett area business community by supporting the chamber program you value most. There’s still time to join in the fun and get involved.”
