Grease Accumulation and Good Grades in Duluth Restaurant Health Checks

Duluth Restaurant Inspections: See the latest health checks of area eateries.

Several Duluth area restaurants underwent health inspections recently by the Georgia Department of Public Health. The results:

  • EURO COFFEE AND BAKERY: The restaurant at 2500 Pleasant Hill Road, No. 300 scored a "92/A" on Oct. 10. Among the violations noted: Violation of Code: [.03(5)(j)1&2 ] Employee water bottle (twist-off top)stored on top of prep cooler. Water bottle discarded. Employee drinks should be in disposable cup with lid/straw and stored in a manner as to prevent contamination.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.

  • MOKSHA KITCHEN: The restaurant at 3294 Peachtree Industrial Boulevard No. 1005 scored a "95/A" on Oct. 10. Among the violations noted: Violation of Code: [.07(6)(b) ] Three spray bottles of chemical not labeled. Had facility label chemicals. Working Containers, Common Name. Working containers used for storing poisonous or toxic materials such as cleaners and sanitizers taken from bulk supplies shall be clearly and individually identified with the common name of the material.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.

  • YUMMY GARDEN: The restaurant at 2300 Pleasant Hill Road, B-6 Suite 139 scored an "80/B" on Oct. 10. Among the violations noted: Violation of Code: [.07(5)(d) ] Ventilation system at fryer area with heavy accumulation of grease. Clean within 10 days. Ventilation system should be cleaned at a frequency to prevent grease from possibly contaminating food preparation.  New Violation.
