Georgia Cremation Opens in Former Duluth School of Ballet Building

The company offers affordable cremations and memorial services.

Georgia Cremation offers simple, affordable cremations and memorial services in its chapel at 3116 Buford Hwy. in downtown Duluth or at local churches. Special veterans services are also available.

The company renovated and moved into the former Duluth School of Ballet building at the end of May.

Cremation is becoming more popular because of cost and concern about being in one location forever while family members may be located in other places, according to owner Frankie Stewart.

The actual cremations are done elsewhere, said Jeremy Watkins, who works with Stewart.

There is a community room in the building that groups are welcome to use for meetings and events free of charge, Watkins said.
