Flurry of Business Activity in Gwinnett Place Area

New business openings, re-openings and expansions reported by Gwinnett Place CID.

New business openings, re-openings and expansions in Gwinnett Place reinforce the area's reputation as a destination for shopping, dining and entertainment.

The following list was contained in a recent Gwinnett Place Community Improvement District e-newsletter. 

  • The Lobster House is set to open in the former Smokey Bones location on Pleasant Hill Road next door to the newly opened Quik Trip Store, the largest in the state of Georgia.
  • Golden House Chinese Restaurant is coming soon to the former Blue Marlin restaurant building across Pleasant Hill Road from the Lobster House and QuikTrip.
  • Farther down Pleasant Hill Road, the new Fisherman’s Bucket Restaurant celebrated its launch by giving away 500 pounds of seafood from its location in the Pleasant Hill Square shopping center near Toys R Us. 
  • The Bruster’s ice cream store located in the Mall Corners shopping center has re-opened under new ownership.  
  • The Rajbhog Café of Duluth has opened in the Market Place shopping center to offer “A Taste of the East."
  • The new Nam San Gol Korean Restaurant recently opened in the Prado Shopping Center adjacent to the Great Wall Supermarket. 
  • Gwinnett Place Mall recently announced that it is adding to its retail offerings with four new stores -- 20 Below, Happy Land, Shoe Show and Stay Fly. 
  • And drivers traveling Satellite Boulevard can see the progress made in the total renovation and expansion of Gwinnett Place Ford.

The latest Gwinnett Place CID business report is “based on our observations while we are in the district,” according to Executive Director Joe Allen. “We meet with new businesses as they move into the area to get their contact information, share information about CID projects and also put their businesses on our Visit Gwinnett Place website. One of our jobs as a CID is to be a resource to the business community serving our area.”
