Duluth Rated Highly for Job Hunters

A financial information website cites several factors about Duluth.

Duluth, with several major employers and cultural attractions in the area, is ranked No. 10 in Georgia for job seekers.

Nerdwallet.com, a financial information website, said of Duluth: "Duluth saw 2.4 percent growth in the working-age population between 2009 and 2011. ... Duluth is the headquarters of companies like AGCO, the U.S. branch of GravoTech and the North American branch of Merial."

Also, the Duluth area includes such companies as Primerica and NCR. And it is close to such Gwinnett County organizations as the Gwinnett Arena and the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce.

No other city in Gwinnett was in the Top 10. Johns Creek, just across the Chattahoochee River in Fulton County, ranked No. 1.

  • Monthly homeowner costs: $1,623.
  • Unemployment rate: 8.0%
