Herman Cain, the Atlanta-based Republican who ended his presidential bid in December, will appear with Newt Gingrich at Gingrich's campaign appearance Saturday (Feb. 18) in Suwanee.
Cain threw his support behind Gingrich in January. The Suwanee event will be at at 11:30 a.m.
The event will be open to the public. "(Gingrich) is eager to see good conservatives in Gwinnett," said Susan Meyers, Gingrich's Southeast communications director. "Gwinnett is a strong base of support for his campaign."
To participate in the precinct meeting Saturday, however, one must be a registered voter and get in line before 10 a.m.
Gingrich's appearance in his former home state comes as the March 6 primary is nearing, and 10 other states are scheduled to hold primary elections that day. Most major polls show Gingrich running behind Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum in the quest to oppose President Barack Obama in November. A New York Times delegate count shows Ginrich in third place.
