Spend 'An Evening in Paris' Tonight!

Duluth arts supporters will spend “An Evening in Paris” Saturday, July 14. The Duluth Fine Art League is sponsoring the fourth annual Arts at Twilight gala to support arts in Duluth and raise funds for arts scholarships.

The Parisian-themed gala will occur at and extend onto the rear brick patio overlooking the white twinkling lights on the . The stained glass studio will be open for tours, and visual and performing artists will participate in the event. There will also be a silent auction.

DFAL annually presents scholarships to Duluth seniors planning to study art. It awarded a total of $4,000 in scholarships in 2010 and 2011.

The gala starts at 7 p.m. Tickets of $25 in advance and $30 at the door include hors d'oeuvres, wine and champagne. Order tickets online or call 770-476-7328.

Sponsors include the City of Duluth, Eaton Academy, FHTM, Finest Events Rental, the Gem Shopping Network, Focal Point Kitchen & Bath, Hardeman Fine Art Glass, Huthmaker’s Violins, NEMA, and Proof of the Pudding.

Hardeman Fine Art Glass is located at 3111 Main St. in Historic Downtown Duluth.

DFAL, which was founded in 2009, has more than 100 members. The organization provides opportunities for citizens to participate in arts-related activities and to be entertained, educated and enriched. Among the other activities DFAL sponsors are Friday Night Art Walks, Duluth READS, a Holiday Walking Tour of Homes, and the “Artsy Smartsy” Education Program.

Members meet the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m., usually at Hardeman Fine Art Glass.
