New Dawn Announces September Line-up

Three-act comedy 'You Can't Take It With You' concludes Labor Day Weekend.

Even as Duluth’s is presenting the final weekend of the comedy “You Can’t Take It With You,” it is announcing the September line-up of dramatic productions and musical performances.

“You Can’t Take It With You” concludes Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Aug. 30-Sept. 1, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 2, at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for senior citizens and children under 16.

Rising Stars Productions will present "The Velveteen Rabbit" Thursdays through Saturdays, Sept. 6-8, 13-15, and 20-22 at 11 a.m. Tickets: $6 in advance, $7 at the door.

"The Magic Box,” an evening of comedy, music and the Magic of Russ Alan, will fill the stage Saturday, Sept. 8, at 8 p.m. Tickets: $12 for adults, $8 for senior citizens and children under 12.

Teatro Interludio will bring "Dos Monologues y Una Playa" to New Dawn Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 15-16, at 6 and 8 p.m. Tickets: $12 for adults, $8 for senior citizens and children under 12.

The "Maria Gabriella Band," a folky pop rock group with a Latin flair, performs in concert Friday, Sept. 21, at 8 p.m. A donation of $5 is suggested. (This is the monthly 10th year anniversary celebration for the theater.)

Laura Monk and High Cotton will present a CD Release Concert and Party Saturday, Sept. 22, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets: $15 include a CD.

"Sing Happy," a night of cabaret-style music, is scheduled Sunday, Sept. 23, at 6 p.m. Tickets: $16 in advance, $18 at the door.

Sue Ryerson will present "Mixed Nuts Comedy" Friday, Sept. 28, at 8 p.m.

Looking ahead to October, New Dawn will stage “The Caine Mutiny Court Martial.”

Auditions for "A Not So Silent Night," a Christmas play written and directed by New Dawn Theater Company President/Artistic Director Sherry Ingbritsen, will occur at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 24 & 25.
