The Gwinnett Center in Duluth is now accepting submissions for its first International Film Festival, July 27-28, 2013.
The festival will celebrate the efforts of local, independent filmmakers, while providing awareness of filmmakers from across the country and internationally, according to a press release announcing the festival.
Filmmakers of any age may submit entries. There will be three screening rooms, classes, and panel discussions presented throughout the event.
Independent films must be submitted by the filmmaker to www.withoutabox.com. The early-bird deadline is May 10, and the final deadline for film entries is June 14.
“Our goal is to give Gwinnett filmmakers the ability to network with industry professionals in an atmosphere that is accommodating to the novice filmmaker,” Selina Branstetter, Performing Arts Center manager at the Gwinnett Center, said in the press release.
Awards will be presented to the most innovative and artistic filmmakers in a variety of categories. There will be a special honor for local, student-made films. All awards will be presented during closing ceremonies on Sunday, July 28.
One day or weekend passes go on-sale Friday, April 12. Passes range from $25- $65. Visit www.gwinnettcenter.com/intlfilmfest for more information on the Gwinnett Center International Film Festival.
