Gwinnett County Public Library Presents- New York Times Bestselling Author and Winner of the 2011 Pulitzer Prize, Siddharta Mukherjee

The Gwinnett County Public Library is proud to announce its newest, annual, countywide Gwinnett Reads selection, The Emperor of All Maladies, by Siddhartha Mukherjee. This cancer biography has been recognized as one of the “10 Best Books of 2010” by the New York Times. The book chronicles the history of cancer as well as delves into its origins, the advancement of diagnoses, and discusses recent developments on this ferocious disease. Mukherjee beautifully weaves compassion for patients and their families along with the science and research of this complex and complicated sickness.

 Mukherjee is an Assistant Professor of Medicine as well as cancer physician at Columbia Medical Center.  He has been recognized as one of the 100 Most Influential People by Time Magazine for 2011.  The event is being held at the Gwinnett Center, Tommy P. Hughes Grand Ballroom, 6400 Sugarloaf Pkwy., Duluth GA 30097.
