On any given Monday, you'll get to hear some touring performing songwriters, some local touring songwriters home from the road, some local songwriters that don't tour, some up and comers working on their chops, some amateurs that will never tour, and sometimes, someone that you can look back and say, "I heard them when"...but be guaranteed, it'll be an entertaining evening! And for $5, probably one of the greatest entertainment values in the land.Β

To perform, please visit the "Play the Open Mic" tab at www.eddieowenpresents.com, or email openmic@eddieowenpresents.com with your name, phone number, and technical info (ie., how many DI? Vox?)

Performers have ten minutes each to make the Red Clay Theatre stage their own. Each act performs two original songs, and a panel of judges chooses three finalists. These three are invited back to the stage at the end of the night to perform one more song. After that, the judges select one winner - this winner will be invited to the Bi-Annual Songwriter's Open Mic Shootout. Performers are judged in five different areas: songwriting, vocal performance, playing ability, stage presence, and audience response.

The Rules:

Three people on stage per performance

No effects, looping, pedals, or amps allowed. We provide vocal mics, direct input plugs for guitars and keyboards, and have mics on hand for instruments without pickups.

No drum kits – only scaled down or hand-held percussion is allowed.

Performers must confirm via email at eddieowenpresents.com by 5:30pm on the day of the show.

Performers must check in for their slot 30 minutes prior to their scheduled playing time.

Since "playing ability" is a judging criteria, all music must be played live. You will not be able to perform with a live track.
