Chattapoochee PetFest
The Duluth Historical Society
– Historic Strickland House proudly presents the third annual Chattapoochee Pet
Fest. Mark your calendars - Sunday, October 2, 2011 – from 10 am to 5pm at the
Duluth, GA Town Green. It will be a grand Celebration of Our Four Legged Pets –
A family and pet friendly event.
Attractions include Pet
adoptions, pets, crafts, food and rescue group vendors – a pet costume parade
with prizes for the best costumes and much, much more. All family members, including
four footed furry ones, are invited to attend. Proceeds benefit the Historic
Strickland House of Duluth – Home of the original Gwinnett Humane Society.
The Strickland House,
maintained by the Duluth Historical Society, built in 1898, is the home of the
first women mayor of Duluth, Alice Strickland. The museum displays artifacts,
exhibits and pictures, which tell the history of Duluth. The museum is open
Thursday - Saturday, 12 to 3 pm.
