Winning $5 Million Lottery Ticket Sold in Duluth

Instant game Millionaire Jumbo Bucks pays off.

A lunch break in Duluth turned lucky recently for a Woodstock man.

Gregg Barnes, 50, won a $5 million prize from the Georgia Lottery through the instant game Millionaire Jumbo Bucks. Barnes, a printing company manager, purchased the winning ticket at Food Mart, 3083 Breckenridge Blvd. in Duluth.

“I scratched it in my car and said, ‘What!’ I thought that I was seeing things,” Barnes said in a Georgia Lottery news release. “It hasn’t sunk in yet.”

He claimed his prize Monday at the Georgia Lottery district office in Duluth. He has no plan for his windfall.

Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program.
